David C. Papotta
CPA - Founder & Principal
I have given my clients a sense of reassurance throughout my career in public and private accounting. My industry experience is extensive and my knowledge across a broad range of specialties is deep. I have been able to consult with clients on a variety of issues and with over 25 years of partner-level involvement, I know how to provide solutions. I have handled the financial, tax and business preparation, and planning needs for clients in the following industries: agriculture, aviation – private jets, construction, distributing, entertainment – video games, post-production and casting, government contracting, health clubs, homeowners associations, insurance – medical groups, investment advisers, lending, manufacturing, non-profit, pension plans (401(k), profit sharing and ESOP), professional services (doctors, lawyers, engineers and architects), real estate, rock & gravel and software.
I was a Peer Reviewer on behalf of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for about ten years, helping other CPAs meet their professional oversight requirements, but more importantly this designation clearly demonstrated that I became an expert in both accounting (GAAP) and auditing (GAAS) standards. My clients have benefited from my counsel and strength when it comes to helping them make fiscally conservative decisions. The results benefit all parties involved today and in the future.
My CPA license was obtained from the State of California in 2000 and more recently, from Idaho in 2013. I am a member of, and received my Financial Forensics Certification from, the AICPA. I also belong to the California Society of CPAs and in the past have served as a Qualifications Committee Member of the California Board of Accountancy and as a Board Member for the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Society. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University at Northridge in 1998.
Off-the-job, I can be found spending time with my two young sons. My beautiful wife, my boys, and I enjoy playing basketball, water sports and golf along with wining & dining. I also volunteer my time with local charities, most recently serving as a Board Member for FVO Solutions, Inc. that became part of Ability First, which provides opportunities for employment for those with barriers such as disabilities.
